Stay pure, true, loyal to yourself and your ideals, whole in body, balanced in spirit, always moving, sensitive to what is happening around you. To be free, eccentric, dynamic, subversive towards uni-formity and stereotypes. To be comfortable with yourself, with others, with the world. There is a way to say all of this, an expression that is a mood, a project, a choice. Stay Gold is the topic of The Others 2015!

Especially for The Others Art Fair in Turin Pony Project Gallery prepared a duo presentation by Macarena Ruiz Tagle (1981, Chile) and Tymek Borowski (1981, Poland). Both artists seek to emphasise the topic “Stay Gold” in their practice. Macarena Ruiz Tagle in a very subtle, emotional and romantic way. She believes in the great power of colour and light on our mood and state of mind. Her newest works are meant to be experienced and push the viewer to find his harmony, to stay balanced with his physical and emotional reactions. Tymek Borowski represents very analytic and intellectual approach tries to find practical rules governing reality. Within his practice he tries to figure out how one can stay loyal to oneself and ideals, balanced in spirit and conscious about what is happening around.

TYMEK BOROWSKI (1984) was born in Warsaw, Poland. Lives, has fun and works in Warsaw. In years 2005–2009 he studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Leon Tarasewicz. Tymek Borowski focuses in his work on “theory and practice of reality”. Tries to find practical rules governing reality. Within his practice he tries to figure out how one can stay loyal to oneself and ones ideals, balanced in spirit and conscious about what is happening around. His works are kind of recipes of “how one should live his life”.

MACARENA RUIZ-TAGLE (1981) was born in Chile, lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She obtained BFA at Universidad Católica, Santiago in Chile as well as MFA degree at Studio Arts during Sculpture Program at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. 2011-2013 she was a student of Olafur Eliasson at his Institut für Raumexperimente at Universität der Künste in Berlin, Germany. Fascinated by light as a material presence, which is a primordial element confined in the world revealing the surface and dimensions of space, Macarena Ruiz-Tagle’s work departs from the interest in the possibilities of the human eye, the physiological reactions and optical phenomena.
